Extension of human genome data in Ensembl genome browser

New version of popular genome browser, Ensembl 94, provides 632 additional transcription factor binding motifs (TFBM) found in the human genome.

Order and composition of sequence contain not only information about proteins but also directly governs certain biochemical reactions occurring at the DNA level. One of those events is various proteins binding to DNA strands, which are the main factor contributing to gene activity regulation. Many specific sequences were elucidated during recent years of Next Generation Sequencing revolution. Databases with them are called transcription factor binding motifs.

Ensembl in the latest release integrated 632 new TFBM from the SELEX project. As well, the interface provided a new way of TFBM visualisation:
