Sleep disorder – narcolepsy with cataplexy – has partially genetic origin

Sleep disorders were found to have common genetic origin: gene HLA-DQB1 with variants that can increase or decrease the risk of diseases; in addition, 13 other genes contribute to narcolepsy with cataplexy in individual cases.
